That time I beat a casino as a kid

How I found the casino
As a kid, stonechat used to fuck around on the internet. Dabbled a little in everything, including this game called CS:GO. If you aren’t familiar, CS:GO is a first person shooter and in the game you can apply skins to your guns to make them look cooler.
So one day I search “how to get CS:GO skins for free” and find a video showing me how to sign up to a crypto casino (name redacted). Now, just to clarify something, I didn’t have to fake being an adult, they just let me in. I won’t name the casino for legal reasons.
The website gave me some free money to start gambling, so I decided to first explore the website and see what they had.
Exploration
After not much browsing I stumble upon Roulette, but not a live roulette, it was a virtual roulette. There were 3 coins: bronze, silver and gold. Bronze and silver 2x-ed your bet and gold 14x-ed it. If you didn’t get your coin, you lost the money.
So first I checked the probability in their “Fair Gameplay” page where I found that I had around 48% chance of getting silver/bronze and around 2% chance of getting gold.
At this point I understood the probability and I understood that there was no way to beat the system. Until…
Discovery
I could see the bets being placed live and I could see history of rolls. After just watching the roulette spin for about an hour, I thought I noticed a pattern. Gold was really rare but sometimes when it landed on gold, it followed up with another gold. This didn’t happen all the time but when it did, it ALWAYS followed with bronze, bronze and silver.
I thought there was no way this was an actual pattern so realized this I started writing down the rolls. Out of 5 times that gold was followed by another gold, all 5 of them were followed by bronze, bronze and silver.
I’m shocked.
Dough
I’m broke. I have 5 cents on my account, luckily minimum bet is 1 cent. I wait for gold… a few minutes later I get it, it’s followed with another gold. It’s go time. I bet on bronze, my first ever bet, I wait and I WIN. I bet on bronze again, I win again. I bet on silver and I win once again.
Now I’m shocked. I just correctly guessed 3 bets in a row, I had around 11% chance of doing that.
I keep doing this manually for around 5 more hours. I make it up to $1.
That is the best $1 I ever made (to put this money in perspective, at the time I used to make dumplings for 5 hours for $1/day)
I build a python script to watch my screen and use images I took to automatically detect the pattern about to happen and bet.
This works flawlessly, within 2 days I’m at $20. Most money I had made in a day.
End of a great run
After about a week of running the bot for 12 hours a day (mom wouldn’t let me keep it running at night) I had made roughly $200, withdrawn $100 and $100 still on the account.
One day I start running the bot, I sit back in my chair and watch my beauty fly. Impatient knowing that statistically, I can make millions.
This was the day the bot made it’s first loss. My heart sank when I saw 3rd bronze instead of a silver. Luckily I had capped the bets, so I only lost $20 but this meant that the pattern no longer worked.
I stop the bot immediately and start watching the roulette. The double gold shows up again, after a very long time, but this time it rolls silver instead of bronze.
It’s over. They fixed it. I withdraw my remaining $80 and walk away disappointed that I couldn’t make millions.
Reflection
I had a lot of fucking fun feeling like the wolf of wallstreet. Would do it again.
