purpose

2024-12-07

Universe is so vast that I sometimes wonder, “what’s the point? why try? who cares?“. I haven’t found a good answer to my questions yet.

I don’t know what my purpose is, we probably aren’t born with one, but I know what matters. Death.

I’ll explain shortly: If you gave me a choice between living forever and dying in 10 years, I’d choose to die in 10 years. Otherwise what would I do living forever? What would I exist for? The only reason I get out of bed every morning is because I have time to lose. If time were nothing to me, my existence would have no purpose.

Get it?

Death is the only reason we care about purpose. Because the clock is ticking and with every tick we get closer to death. I don’t want to live in a world where humans don’t worry about death.

regret

You know that feeling, when you procrastinate homework for so long that you miss the deadline?

The regret of not doing the work. I hate regret.

Most people I know will regret not doing more in their life and everyone I know who has lived past half their life regrets not doing more when they were young.

These people don’t necessarily have their purpose figured out and they’re not regretful because they didn’t achieve their purpose.

They regret not leaving their mark in history. They regret not working enough to buy their kids a house or fund their college. They regret looking at the world infront of them and not seeing themselves in it.

I would HATE to be one of those people. I can’t imagine the heartache.

solution

Look at the world infront of you and carve your image into it.

You don’t have to build the internet or build a new empire.

Build relationships, help people, help the world. In any way you can, in any way your ambition allows you.
